Gender and DevelopmentOnline course

Welcome!Welcome to PyD's Gender and Development eLearning Programme Version 1.The content of this eLearning Programme has been developed by Paz y Desarrollo’s (PyD) Regional Office in Asia; strategic efforts to increase efficiency, effectiveness, quality and impact of program implementation justify the need of capacity building cycles. Through this eLearning Programme, technical and institutional capacity of PyD's members to incorporate the gender equity perspective into all phases of the programs will be strengthened. This eLearning Programme represents a second effort at utilizing a new medium, the Internet, for PyD’s gender mainstreaming efforts. This initiative is conceived as a dynamic resource that will be updated and enriched as more operational tools and resources for gender mainstreaming are developed, both at PyD and elsewhere.

This eLearning Programme has been designed as a tool to learn about gender issues in the development world, with particular reference to PyD's areas of operation. In it, you will find:an introduction to the basics principles and techniques of gender analysis and planning.simple operational tools to assist you in mainstreaming gender concerns into your work.a variety of basic gender-related information resources in line with to PyD's operations in the region, with country and sector-specific focus.Content

This eLearning Programme is meant primarily as an operational tool for PyD staff working in Asia. Interested partners of PyD, such as relevant ministries and departments, employer organizations, worker organizations, and women's organizations, constitute an important secondary audience. This eLearning Programme is a self-paced tool, which means that you can go through it at your own pace, over one or several sittings, and in any order that you wish. You need to proceed sequentially. However, you can also bookmark sections that seem especially important and return to them at leisure or as frequently as you wish.Learners

FeedbackIt is hoped that you will find this a useful learning and information resource that can enrich PyD’s efforts to mainstream gender into all its operations. Your feedback, comments and suggestions on content, user-friendliness, or any other concerns are very welcome and keenly invited. Please contact asia@pazydesarrollo.org. These inputs from you, the intended users, will help us tailor the modules more carefully to your needs and interests. As the Regional Office is committed to developing an eLearning resource that responds to PyD’s  staff learning needs, we would very much appreciate receiving your feedback on each module. An online survey has been set up for this purpose for each module, accessible here below.
