As soon as things go bad, it’s easy to feel sorry for yourself. Self pity comes very naturally to us humans.

It’s easy to ask, “Why me?” However there is absolutely no value in such a practice. Whenever you’re met with difficulty, you may be tempted to leap straight into your own personal pity party, but this is a useless exercise in futility. When you throw your pity party, other people don’t feel sorry for you. Instead, they see you as weak, fragile, unable to handle life's difficulties. It will make anyone around you annoyed by you, resentful, and they just won't want to be around you. The more you feel sorry for yourself in life, the more people will take advantage of you for their own benefit. You’ll be exploited over and over until you’re wallowing in a swamp of self-pity, alone and completely hopeless. The only way to avoid this destiny is to start respecting yourself and standing up for what you need and start channeling your emotions in a more rewarding manner. Here is how to do it.
