Nothing, I mean nothing is more important than telling a soul how to be born again so that they can have everlasting life with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Absolutely nothing else matters if souls are not being saved in our churches.No matter how great our programs are, no matter how many people attend our churches, no matter how great the choir and praise teams sound, no matter how wonderful and exciting the preaching is, no matter how uplifting the fellowship is, etc, … if people are not being told how to be born again … we are cheating them out of making a decision to give their lives to Jesus Christ … we are cheating them out of the opportunity of having eternal life.I pray these PowerPoints will help you understand that God loves you and wants you to be filled with His Spirit. He wants you to spend eternity with Him, but there is a requirement to obey. There are Scriptures in this Ppt. that will help you to know what to obey.3

You will notice that there are many repetitions of some scriptures in this presentation. It is a good thing. It will help you remember what you have read on previous slides and will help you realize how important it is to know the scriptures that tell you how to be born again of the water and of the Spirit.4

Avoid at all costs, all religions that are without Holy Ghost power, and religions with watered down and sugar-coated messages! Messages that lie by telling you the Holy Ghost is no longer given, and that baptism is not necessary. Remember what Peter said in Acts 2:38-39 “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” (HEY, THAT’S US)! Mark 16:15-17 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; shall speak with new tongues; 1 Peter 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:5

EVERY TIME, without exception, when God fills a person with the HOLY GHOST, that person SPEAKS IN TONGUES as THE SPIRIT gives the utterance.(Acts 2:4). SPEAKING IN TONGUES IS GOD’S WITNESS, allowing a person to know, beyond any doubt, that God has filled him or her with the HOLY GHOST!6

THEY SIMPLY DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT!2 Timothy 4:2-4 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 7

Sometimes the Truth Hurts – and we would rather have our ears tickled. Don’t allow yourself to be deceived by ignoring the true Gospel because you don’t like the way it makes you feel. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 8THEY SIMPLY DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT!

This reminds me of a time I was showing born again Scriptures to someone. As I was “trying” to show the scriptures to that person, I realized she had her head turned away from what I was “showing” her. It was as if she thought to herself, “If I don’t look, I will not be accountable to the Lord for not knowing what those scriptures say about being born again”. Unfortunately, ignorance is not an excuse that the Lord will accept … especially if you ignore the truth of the Gospel after He sends someone to reveal the truth to you.9THEY SIMPLY DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT!

Has GOD set his seal of approval upon you, because of your belief and faith in him, by filling you with the HOLY GHOST? There are plenty of ministers who take it upon themselves to tell people that they are right with God. HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE RIGHT WITH GOD? 10

When it comes to preaching the Gospel, half-truths and watered down sermons is so unfair to those people who really want to know how to be saved, and to those who are not believers at the moment, but after hearing the Gospel, would possibly respond to the truth. 11

Pastors, preachers, ministers, teachers, and those in the ministry, it’s time to stop trying to please the people by watering down the TRUTH and preach the Word of God to them so that they can know how to be saved. When they get to heaven, there is no way to describe the joy they will have (and you), because after hearing you preach the truth, they obeyed it, and are saved for all eternity. It is in your best interest to tell them the truth, for you must stand before God and give an answer to what you preached to the people.People deserve to know the truth about being born again of the water and of the Spirit. Tell them to obey Acts 2:38. Tell them how to live a holy life that pleases God. It is so sad to say, but in some churches, it is hard to distinguish the saved from the unsaved because of worldliness. Teach the holiness message to those who are already born again, so that they can grow in a godly manner, in holiness, knowing what is pleasing to the Lord. Teach holiness to our young people, who have so much corruption in the world to overcome. They need your guidance. The Holy Ghost will guide you, but you must do your part to lead the people according to the will of God .12

Many souls have been persuaded to believe that they are right with GOD. Who were they persuaded by? How do you know IF they know what they are talking about? Was it by Pastors, Ministers, Teachers, Friends? 13

James 2:19-20 Thou believest that there is ONE GOD; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?WHERE IS HIS INFALLIBLE WITNESS?They tell you that GOD loves everybody (which is true), that everyone is going to heaven (which is a lie). They tell you that you are a good person and that is good enough for GOD. They tell you that HOLY GHOST is no longer given, and speaking in tongues is no longer the evidence that a person has been filled with the HOLY GHOST. (another lie). They tell you that you don’t have to stop sinning, that GOD accepts you just the way you are. There is more to believing then simply saying you believe. If you believe in God, you must obey the Gospel of Jesus Christ as taught by His disciples.They tell you that all you have to do is believe.(Sure God accepts you just the way you are when you come to Him seeking His forgiveness of your sins, but He loves you too much to allow you to remain unsaved (not filled with His Spirit). He made it possible for all believers in His Son Jesus to be filled with His Spirit (the Holy Ghost), and His Spirit will guide you in all truth and holiness that pleases God.14

You'll find plenty of pastors, ministers, teachers who will tell you that your faith is pleasing to God, EVEN IF GOD HAS NOT YET GIVEN YOU HIS HOLY SPIRIT. Many will tell you that the HOLY GHOST was for another time and another place, not for today. Don’t believe their lies. If you are satisfied with the witness of men, you'll listen to them and you will die IN YOUR SINS. They will tell you that you can never be lost once you are saved. They tell you that if you are living in sin when Jesus comes, you will still be caught up in the Rapture, because once saved, always saved.(a huge lie, that many believe) DON’T BELIEVE THEIR LIES!Don’t be deceived. Don’t dare listen to their lies. Search the Scriptures and compare what they say with the King James Bible. What does the Book of Acts say about repenting, about what name to be baptized in, and what happens when a person has been filled with the Holy Ghost?15

1 Corinthians 11:14-15 And no marvel; for satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. 1 Corinthians 11:13For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 16

“Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.“The Holy Spirit is the Promise. It is also for those who are afar. That means the Promise is even for us who are living today.Being filled with the Holy Spirit is a requirement for everyone. Look what Romans 8:9 says “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his”. SEE WHAT THESE SCRIPTURES SAY? 17

WHO IS THE BORN AGAIN CHURCH! The BORN AGAIN CHURCH are people who have repented of their sins and are baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins and are filled with the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance,in the exact same way it happened to those (as recorded), in the book of Acts and it is still happening to EVERYONE who is born again of the Spirit.18

“But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” Isaiah 64:6No matter how nice we are or how good we think we are, look what Isaiah 64:6 says about us:There are some people who are so SWEET, it is hard to believe that they are not saved. But, it is true. Unless that nice person gives his or her life to Jesus … they will be lost, because Jesus is the only WAY to salvation. 19

Beware of those who try to teach you any other Gospel, for there is ONLY ONE GOSPEL and that is THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST!Galatians 1:6-7 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another Gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the Gospel of Christ. WARNING: We, too, can be deceived. Jesus gave His disciples the salvation message to preach to us. We must not lean to our own understanding or listen to any one who is not preaching or teaching the Word of God as it is written and preached by His disciples, as recorded in the KJV Bible. (I say King James Bible, because many of the modern bibles have changed, and actually omitted, some of the original scriptures to fit their own doctrines or beliefs. They are wolves in sheep’s clothing). WARNING: Not all Apostolic Pentecostal churches are the same. Compare all scriptures that are taught, by what the disciples preached: “Repent and be baptized EVERYONE of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost” (Acts 2:38). Remember what Jesus said in John 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word”; 20

Galatians 1:8-9 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other Gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, say I now again, if any man preach any other Gospel unto you than that ye have received, Let him be accursed. 2 John 1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:21

1 Timothy 4:1-2 Now The spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 2 John 1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:1 Timothy 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.22

2 John 1:9-10 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 24

Jude 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. Common salvation is the Gospel of Jesus Christ that was preached by His disciples, whose understanding Jesus opened so that they could understand the scriptures.25

COMMON SALVATION JUDE 3Ephesians 4:4-6  There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; Ephesians 4:4-6  One Lord, one faith, one baptism, Ephesians 4:4-6  One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.The common salvation - The Christian religion, and the salvation which it brings. This is called common because it equally belongs to Jews and Gentiles; it is the saving grace of God which has appeared to every man, and equally offers to every human being that redemption which is provided for the whole world.26

UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT THE GOSPEL IS, HOW CAN YOU KNOW HOW TO BE SAVED? YOU CAN’T! FAITH COMES BY HEARING THE WORD OF GOD.Romans 10:11-16 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the Gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! But they have not all obeyed the Gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? 27

2 Corinthians 4:2-4 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. But if our Gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. BUT IF OUR GOSPEL BE HID, IT IS HID TO THEM THAT ARE LOST!28

HALF TRUTHS AND MISGUIDED MESSAGES CAN CAUSE YOU TO LOSE YOUR SOUL!Matthew 24:4-5 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.29

But, there are some precious people who are obeying what they think is the Word of God, to the best of their ability, because of what they have heard preached or taught by someone.However, because of tradition, some of these precious people will refuse to obey the Gospel, even after the Lord sends someone to open their understanding of the Scriptures regarding what it means to be born again of the water and of the Spirit. PLEASE DON’T LET THAT BE YOU.30

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 But if our Gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. There are so many false prophets, preachers, etc. In the world, how can you know what the true gospel of Jesus Christ is?31

INSTEAD OF LISTENING AND OBEYING THE WORDS OF MAN, PLEASE GOD BY BEING TEACHABLE AND OBEDIENT TO WHAT’S WRITTEN IN THE WORD OF GOD!32

Acts 18:24-26 And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the Scriptures, came to Ephesus. This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John. And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.APOLLOS WAS TEACHABLENotice that Apollos was an eloquent man, mighty in the Scriptures, yet he did not allow pride to keep him from hearing Aquilla and Priscilla explain the more perfect way … which is the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and after hearing the more perfect way, he began preaching it to others.33

Acts 18:27-28 And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace: For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the Scriptures that Jesus was Christ. APOLLOS WAS OBEDIENT34

Acts 9:17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. Acts 9:18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized. PAUL WAS TEACHABLE & OBEDIENT35

Acts 19:1-3 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. JOHN’S DISCIPLES TEACHABLE36

Acts 19:4-7 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. JOHN’S DISCIPLES OBEDIENT37

CORNELIUS WAS TEACHABLE & OBEDIENTActs 10:1-6, 24, 44-48 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band, A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway. He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius. And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God. And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter: He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do. And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends. To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? (see Acts 2:4) And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. …. 38

How do we become teachable and obedient to the Gospel of Jesus Christ? WE MUST ALSO BE TEACHABLE AND OBEDIENTWhen we hear it preached and taught by a believer who teaches the same Gospel that the disciples preached; we must obey it.39

Romans 10:14-15 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?WARNING: Not all people who call themselves preachers are sent by GOD! If they are not preaching the message that Jesus’ disciples preached, they are not sent by God.40

So, how do you know if the Gospel of Jesus Christ is being preached? By comparing and verifying what is being preached by what is recorded in the King James Bible. Ask yourself: “Is it the same message the disciples of Jesus preached?” If not, come out from among them, as the Scriptures says to do. WARNING: ALL CHURCHES ARE NOT THE SAME2 John 1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:1 Timothy 4:1-2 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 1 Timothy 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.41

Be very careful reading other bible versions, without your King James Bible there with you so that you can compare the Scriptures. Many of the newer bibles have been altered by transcribers who added, and/or deleted Scriptures altogether to fit their own doctrine or beliefs.Read the book of Acts (in the original King James Bible, not the modern King James Bibles), it will let you know how the born again Church began, and what happened every time someone was filled with the Holy Ghost, they spoke in tongues, and you will also see what name was used, every time, when the disciples baptized people. It was always in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins. WARNING: NOT ALL BIBLES TEACH THE TRUE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST, THAT WAS PREACHED BY HIS DISCIPLES42

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; he that believeth not shall be damned. DOES IT REALLY MATTER WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT JESUS?IT SURE DOES!1 John 5:10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 43

John 20:30-31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.48WHY BELIEVE IN THE NAME OF JESUS

Luke 24:45-47 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.49WHY BELIEVE IN THE NAME OF JESUS

The controversy (disagreement) is not about the titles: FATHER, SON, AND HOLY GHOST, it is always about the name:JESUSIt has always been a controversy throughout time. People pray, and do other things in the name of JESUS, but when it comes to baptism in His name, they have a problem. They insist on repeating the words of the command given by JESUS instead of obeying the command like the disciples did all through the book of Acts. Neither is there salvation in any other:for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.Acts 4:1250WHY BELIEVE IN THE NAME OF JESUS

As you read the book of Acts, you will see that the disciples ALWAYS BAPTIZED EVERYONE in the NAME OF JESUS. WHY? For the remission of sins! And people ALWAYS SPOKE IN TONGUES when they were filled with the HOLY GHOST.51WHY BELIEVE IN THE NAME OF JESUS

Matthew 12:21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust. Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Acts 3:16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. Acts 1:4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:12 Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey. 52WHY BELIEVE IN THE NAME OF JESUS

1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. Baptism is to be done in the name of Jesus Christ, according to Acts 2:38, for the remission of sins. If you don’t believe that is important, how will the remission of sins be applied to you? Do you think someone repeating the command in Matthew 28:19 by saying the titles Father, Son, and Holy Ghost when they baptize you, (instead of baptizing you in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins, as the disciples did when they baptized people all through the Book of Acts) is the right way to be baptized? It isn’t! Do you know that NEVER, NOT ONCE, NOT ONE TIME did the disciples repeat the command in Matthew 28:19 when they baptized people? Acts 4:12 says: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved”. 55WHY BELIEVE IN THE NAME OF JESUS

The difference is that what the true word of GOD says will happen, does happen! So, what’s the difference in their version of the Bible and the true WORD OF GOD?So, you can believe it when God said that He will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask for it, for He is still answering that request to this very day. He wants to give the Holy Spirit to you, ask and believe Him for it.Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? 75BEWARE OF CORRUPT BIBLES!

Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: MY TESTIMONY:I knew hardly nothing about speaking in tongues, except for when I was approx. 7 years old. A woman used to pray with me in her home, having me say THANK YOU JESUS. It felt really good to be thanking Jesus. My mom moved, so I lost contact with her. I met her some years later when I was 19 years old. She took me to a Pentecostal church, one night, but it was closed. It was not until I was 34 years old, when I got baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins and came up out of the water immediately speaking in tongues. I sure didn’t know that was going to happen (smile), but so glad that it did.Being a child of God is SO exciting, and oh how excited I was as I compared scriptures (from the tract: THE WHEEL OF PROPHECY) that said the same thing about Jesus as it said about God. MY TESTIMONY, CONTINUESI knew without a doubt that I had been filled with God’s Spirit, for I heard myself speak in tongues (the Spirit of God bearing witness that I am a child of God). God filled me with the Holy Ghost, and I spoke in tongues coming up out of the baptismal pool. I didn’t know it then, but as I grew older, I realized why the woman who used to pray with me when I was 7 years old, had me saying thank you Jesus. She was believing God to fill me with His Spirit. I believe over the years, she still prayed for me. I don’t know if she is still living, but I pray she is still saved, for I want to meet her in heaven when Jesus comes and say thank you for praying with me. (I didn’t understand what baptism in Jesus meant, until approx. a month later after I was baptized. It was for the remission of my sins. HOW TO READ THE BIBLE TO GET A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE SCRIPTURES88

Example: they will quote Matthew 28:19, but usually do not quote Matthew 28:20, where Jesus says “teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you”.By reading the Scriptures Precept Must Be Upon Precept, Precept Upon Precept; Line Upon Line, Line Upon Line; Here A Little, And There A Little: and combining all Scriptures that pertain to repentance and baptism in the name of Jesus, you will realize that the disciples obeyed the command, in Matthew 28:19, not repeat it like a parrot. So how did they baptize people? They obeyed Jesus command by baptizing people in the name of Jesus as revealed in Acts 2:38 (and throughout the book of Acts), for the remission of sins. MANY PEOPLE BUILD A DOCTRINE FROM ONE SCRIPTURE.They baptized people in the name of Jesus for the remission of sin, beginning at Jerusalem, as Jesus told them to do in Luke 24:47: “And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.”)(I encourage you to search the scriptures, and read the whole book of Acts for yourself. See for yourself how the born again church preached and obeyed the Gospel every time they baptized people and what happened every time a person was filled with God’s Spirit.)89

FOR EXAMPLE: (Keep your eyes on the blue rectangle) If I were putting a puzzle together, or show you a picture that has been dimmed, you would probably not be able to get the full revelation of what the puzzle or the picture is about until it is complete. Likewise, unless you read the word of GOD, precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little, you most likely will come to your own conclusion about what the Scriptures mean. Especially if you base your research on just one Scripture.96

JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY TO THE FATHER!John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. 97

JESUS IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH, THE LIFEJohn 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. John 14:6-7 Jesus saith unto him,I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Some people believe that there are many ways to God. They find it hard, or impossible, to believe that Jesus is the only way to God.100

How do those who are baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of sin and are filled with the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives them the utterance, know that their doctrine is the only right one?How do they know that many people are wrong in their religious beliefs? How do they know that the way of many religions are not acceptable to God? How do they know for sure that God does not accept those who preach and believe in a Gospel not taught by the disciples? John 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; “through their word” is referring to the disciples of Jesus.101

They are sure because born again believers have been filled with God’s Spirit and speak in tongues as the Spirit gives them the words to speak.FALSE PROPHETS AND FALSE RELIGIONS DO NOT HAVE GOD’S WITNESS.102WHAT IS THE INFALLIBLE WITNESS THAT MAKES THOSE WHO ARE TRULY BORN AGAIN OF THE WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT SURE THAT THEIR RELIGION IS THE RIGHT ONE?

WHAT IS THE INFALLIBLE WITNESS OF GOD? The HOLY SPIRIT baptism, with the person speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance, is the only Witness, the only proof given by God to show that He has filled a person with His Holy Spirit.103

Religion without the HOLY GHOST is false religion, regardless of the flowery titles that men give to their organizations. Men naming their religion “Christianity” does not mean that it has anything whatsoever to do with CHRIST.104RELIGION WITHOUT THE HOLY GHOST (HOLY SPIRIT) IS FALSE RELIGION!

THE WITNESS: John 3:7-8 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. the wind bloweth where it listeth (wants), and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Acts 10:45-48 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. WHAT IS THE WITNESS OF GOD? Just as you hear the wind blowing and don’t know where it comes from, you will hear the person God has filled with His Spirit make a sound, you will hear them speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives them the utterance (words to speak).105

Some religions may claim that God gave them a "Bible", but did He? Where is GOD’S WITNESS of it? There isn’t one!The washing away of sins comes with the HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM, and comes only in the NAME OF JESUS, GOD’S SON.False worshippers of idols made with man’s hand, may claim to have scriptures that are holy, but has the Almighty ever baptized anyone with HIS HOLY SPIRIT in the name of one of their gods? 106Of course not!

1 Corinthians 2:1,4 Wrote Paul, "When I came to you, I came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God… and my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God" PAUL: MY SPEECH AND MY PREACHING WAS NOTWITH ENTICING WORDS OF MAN'S WISDOM1 Thessalonians 1:5 Again, to the saints in Thessalonica Paul wrote, "Our Gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance.”107

There are many false religions that is their word only religions, and GOD does not bear any witness to their existence, nor does God given them His sign of approval. There are many false religions today who say they are Christians, but deny that the Holy Ghost is still given to people today, exactly the same way it was given in the Book of Acts. They deny that baptism is necessary, even though Jesus said in His Word, He that believes and is baptized shall be saved (read the next scripture)Mark 16:15-17 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 108

Therefore, Speaking in Tongues is The Witness that shows God has filled that person with the Holy Ghost. What SOUND do you HEAR when a person is filled with the HOLY GHOST?You hear them Speak in Tongues, as THE SPIRIT gives the utterance!WHAT SOUND DO YOU HEAR?109

1 Corinthians. 14:22"Wherefore," the apostle Paul wrote, "TONGUES ARE FOR A SIGN, not to them that believe but to them that believe not“(because believers are the ones speaking in tongues), The BAPTISM of the HOLY SPIRIT with the evidence of speaking in tongues is the "BAPTISM" OF THE SPIRIT.It is the thing that SETS THE WAY OF THE LORD APART from every false way, including the religion of Christianity.DID YOU KNOW THAT TONGUES ARE A SIGN FOR NON BELIEVERS … NOT BELIEVERS?110

God did not intend for The Gospel of His Son to be like all the religions of the earth, religions which depend upon men believing men. Born Again Christians (Baptized and Holy Ghost filled) are not left with nothing but man’s opinion of it. God Himself has given us definite proof. He has filled us with the Gift of the Holy Ghost. In order to receive the Holy Spirit, it requires men to believe God, repent of sin, and obey Him.THE GOSPEL OF JESUS IS NOT LIKE THE RELIGIONS OF THE WORLD111

If people can be saved just by believing with all their heart, as some people are told and believe, why then did those men ask Peter: “What Shall We do”? According to what some people think today, “Just believe and you are saved”. They are WRONG! There is more to believing than simply saying you believe.113

This question is very important and this is the question every human being should ask: What Shall We Do? Every honest heart asks the same question maybe in a different format, but the same question.Acts 2:37... Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”114

Romans 8:8-9 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His. YOU MUST BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST! IT IS NOT AN OPTION!117

Without the HOLY SPIRIT we cannot see the need for a spiritual life that is led by the Spirit of Truth.The SPIRIT OF TRUTH helps us to discern between right and wrong.John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the SPIRIT OF TRUTH, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. Romans 8:11But IF the SPIRIT of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead is in you, he that raised up CHRIST from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. This is the key verse in the book of Acts. The primary purpose of the baptism in the Spirit is the receiving of power to witness for Jesus, order to win the lost to Him and teach them to observe all that Christ commanded. The end result is that Jesus may be known, loved, honored, praised, and made Lord of God’s chosen people. Power (Gk. Dunamis) -- means more than strength or Ability. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is continued in the believer’s life by prayer, witnessing, worship in the Spirit, and a sanctified life. However powerful the initial coming of the Holy Spirit upon the believer may be, if this does not find expression in a life of prayer, witness, and holiness, the experience will soon become a fading glory.Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. STEPS TOWARD RECEIVING THE HOLY SPIRIT138

REPENTANCEThe prerequisite for receiving the Holy Ghost is repentance. This prepares the soul through humility and forgiveness to become a vessel that can be filled with the Holy Ghost.ACTS 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.ACTS 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;139

THE REFRESHING IS THE HOLY GHOSTIsaiah 28:11-12 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. 140

Romans 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? JAMES 1:6-7 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.141REPENTANCE

FAITHThe seeker must believe that he/she will receive the Holy Ghost.  JOHN 7:38-39 He that believeth on me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) LUKE 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?142

EPHESIANS 1:13-14 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the Gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were Sealed with that Holy Spirit of Promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.FAITH IN GOD’S PROMISESActs 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. ACTS 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.143

James 2:17-20, 26 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. MANY PEOPLE WILL TELL YOU “BUT, I ALREADY HAVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST BY FAITH. I DON’T NEED TO SPEAK IN TONGUES.” THEIR FAITH IS DEAD! THE WORD OF GOD SAYS IF YOU DON’T HAVE THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST, YOU DON’T BELONG TO HIM. FAITH WILL MAKE YOU SEEK TO BE FILLED WITH GOD’S SPIRIT. FAITH IN ACTION IS OBEYING GOD’S WORD, OTHERWISE, FAITH IS DEAD. Don’t be negative towards the opportunity of being filled with God’s precious gift: THE HOLY GHOST! Doubt is not faith in the Word of God, Doubt is a person leaning on his/her own understanding … with self-reliance thinking!144Look what Romans 8:9 says: “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his”.

Do you think Simon wanted to buy an unseen gift? Acts 8:17-20 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. No way!THEY LAID THEIR HANDS ON THEM, AND THEY RECEIVED THE HOLY GHOST.145

No one has ever been good enough to be counted worthy to enter GOD’S kingdom. True repentance is “godly sorrow” for sin. It is an act of turning around and going in the opposite direction. DESIREIf a person has no desire to receive the Holy Ghost, he will not receive it. God does not force His Spirit into people. It is a Gift. If an individual wants it, he can have it. If he refuses it, he doesn’t have to take it. Again, it is the GIFT of the Holy Ghost.“PAST” – The Seeker must recognize that no matter how much good he/she might have done in this life, we have all sinned and need the Lord to forgive us for committing those sins. 146

John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. “FUTURE” – God has such a WONDERFUL place prepared for those of us who love Him, so rejoice in the fact that God, through His Holy Spirit, is with you always, even to the end of the world. “PRESENT” – The Seeker must realize his/her need to be filled with the Holy Ghost.147DESIRE

1 Corinthians 2:9-10 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 148DESIRE

Begin by praising Him. You can praise Him in whatever words you wish to praise Him with, but here are a few phrases some people say as they worship the Lord, while seeking the HOLY GHOST: Thank You Jesus! Hallelujah! I Love You Jesus! I Praise You Jesus! It is essential that you focus on the Lord if you are to receive the Holy Ghost. Focus on the Lord in your mind. 149FOCUS

You must open your mouth, and use your voice, as you praise the Lord, so that we can hear you (and you can hear yourself) when God has filled you with His Spirit.JOHN 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. How can you worship the Lord in spirit and in truth, if you are not filled with the Spirit of Christ? You can’t!150VOCAL WORSHIP

Remember what God said in LUKE 11:13“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” So, just take Him at His Word. He wants you to be filled with His Spirit even more than you do.In the Book of Acts, those in the Bible spoke in tongues as the Spirit gave the utterance.I did, and others have, and so will you. Expect it to happen to you and it will happen! As you praise God, expect to be filled with the Holy Ghost, but don’t concentrate on tongues, just continue praising the Lord and you will receive the Holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in tongues.151VOCAL WORSHIP
