Qn: Outline the necessary conditions for growing wheat?Is a warm to cool climate crop; in East Africa grows in the highlands.It requires a temperature of about 15C - 20C during growing period.It requires relatively lower amount of moisture; since for cooler climate, evapotranspiration is relatively low.Rainfall required should be 305mm –1015mm; plenty of moisture required during germination.At maturity, rainfall should phase out.It requires light clay or deep loam soil; that is well drained.
