Response to Brief:The creative brief that I have been given is to create a horror genre film opening for teenagers (15-17 years old). From my research of the current market I have found out that there a lot of horror films aimed at male and female teenagers therefore this is very popular. From my audience research I found out that my target audience would like a horror film opening. They also prefer the font serif because it is more conventional to the genre horror and therefore meets their expectations. My ideal audience are male and female teenagers around the age of 15 -17 years old.I will target them by using the answers according to my survey in order to create a film opening so it can meet their expectations. The sort of things I intend to include in my film opening are variety of camera shots/angle e.g. close up shot, establishing shot etc. , editing techniques e.g. track, zoom etc. as a lot of people like seeing a variety of camera shots/movement/editing such in order to make the film opening seem more entertaining and captivating as possible. Followed by camera shots, some people also like to see main characters and title credits. I may include this in my film opening because there’s still a minority who prefer this as well. Most prefer other such as music/soundtrack. I will definitely include this in order to gain popularity. The sort of conventions I may include are weapons, people, etc. because these are conventional to horror therefore it is more likely to meet the audience’s expectations. I will also be adding other conventions that were preferred by the minority such as low/high key lighting in order to conform to the genre horror as much as possible. The name of our production is called ‘MoonLight Studios’. My group chose this because the moon is a typical convention of the genre horror, so we thought it would be appropriate to use the moon.
