What is Agriculture ?Agriculture, also called farming or husbandry, is the cultivation of animals, plants, fungi, and other life forms for food, fiber, biofuel, drugs and other products used to sustain and enhance human life.Agriculture was the key development in the rise of sedentary human civilization, whereby farming of domesticated species created food surpluses that nurtured the development of civilization. The study of agriculture is known as agricultural science.

Major Branches of AgricultureAgronomy; Agronomy deals with soil management and the growing of crops.Horticulture; Horticulture deals with the cultivation of fruits, vegetables, and ornamental crops.Agricultural Engineering; Agricultural engineering involves knowledge of farm machines and equipment. It also deals with developing new systems and practices to address problems facing agriculture.Agricultural Economics; Agricultural Economics deals with the business end of farming.Animal Science; Animal Science is basically the breeding and caring of animal for specific purposes, such as for there meat, milk and/or fur.

Universities Offering B.sc Agriculture in NepalThere are only two universities offering B.sc Agriculture in NepalTribhuvan Univesity and Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU)Under the Affiliation of Tribhuvan Universites. There are four colleges offering B.sc Ag Program, they are Paklihawa Campus, Rupendehi, Lamjung Campus, Lamjung, Gokuleshowr Campus, Baitadi and Mahendra Ratna Campus, Illam Bazzar.Under the Affiliation of Agriculture and Forestry University there is only one college offering the course, it is Rampur Campus, Chitwan.

Entrance ExaminationTo study in IAAS one should pass entrance examination.Entrance question covers both from Class 11 & 12.All the entrance questions are multiple choice type.One should tick out one right answer ostracizing three wrong ones.
