The Purpose of AAHA is to:Enhance the abilities of veterinarians to provide quality medical care to companion animals Enable veterinarians to successfully conduct their practices and maintain their facilities with high standards of excellence Meet the public's needs as they relate to the delivery of small animal veterinary medicine4

What is AAHA Accreditation?Veterinary practices that accept the challenge of accreditation are evaluated on stringent quality standards that encompass all aspects of pet care – ranging from patient care and pain management, to team training and medical record keeping.5

What does this mean to you?AAHA standards are continuously updated to keep accredited practices on the forefront of veterinary medicine. You can trust an AAHA-accredited practice team to provide the very best care for your pet!6

How is a practice accredited?Preparing for the evaluation is a team-building experience and increases moraleOn the day of the evaluation, an AAHA consultant visits and spends 1-2 days in the hospital evaluating the practice on over 900 standards. To maintain their accreditation, a practice must be re-evaluated every 3 years.7
