THE CLIENT Clifford Chance leading law firms employing 6,000 people in 29 offices across 20 countries. With offices dotted around the globe, the firm has successfully embedded e - learning as a vital component of its learning strategy to reach all staff regardless of their location.
Diversity and quality of skills Clifford Chance clients are accustomed to receiving a consistently high level of service, delivered seamlessly wherever they are in the globe. To maintain the quality of its services, Clifford Chance employees need excellent legal knowledge, business and relationship building skills. So, the delivery of learning across these areas is key to the firm's success. Time pressured and globally dispersed staff Majority of their staff are time pressured fee - earners dispersed across the world. This means Clifford L&D team must constantly find new, effective and consistent quality learning initiatives and deliver them to a global audience. Access to knowledge They identified e - learning as a great compliment to classroom training, and also as a learning method with potential to improve access to knowledge and skills training on a global basis.
Initially the e - learning team at Clifford Chance created courses themselves and to their delight , these were very well received even though they didn't have any audio, video or flash animation. Learner uptake at the firm has been excellent and feedback shows that learners rate it as highly as classroom courses - giving it 86 % satisfaction rating for excellence based on content, presentation and relevance. As a result, the overall skill level of the firm has been improved. In fact, in one year alone, 6,000 e - learning module completions were recorded.
