The Independence DayKrystian PostekClass Vb Primary school no. 353
On 11th November 1918 Poland, after 123 years of occupation, became an independent country. We celebrate this day every year. We do it in different ways.
There are parades on the streets of our cities.Soldiers and policemen take part in the parade.
Some pepole wear historical uniforms. The greatest parade takes place in Warsaw, the capital of Poland.
Real soldiers present their uniforms.
The parade starts at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
People who come to see the parade wear cotillions in national colors – white and red and hold state flags.
Other people prefer to celebrate this day taking part in The Run for Independence.
Families visit historical museums.
Children and youth take part in the city games.
Streets and houses are decorated with Polish flags because we are very proud of it.
