Capital: Managua (where you’re flying into) Official Language: Spanish 2nd poorest nation in Western Hemisphere (behind Haiti) Nicaragua

Siuna, Nicaragua 30% population lives here, majority live in rural communities Mostly farmers (corn and beans) Hospital in Siuna received running water in 2013 and the nearest teaching hospital is 6 hours away

Potential ItineraryDay 1: Arrive in Managua (capital). Stay the night in a hotel.

Day 2: Fly to Siuna and drive to health outpost in Tadazna. Orientation with BTC staff.

Day3-7: Clinic (9:00-5:00PM) and community projects. Tour Siuna hospital.

Day 8: Fly back to Managua, enjoy a free day (open air market and volcano). Spend the night in the nice hotel again.

Day 9: Fly home

ClinicTypically 70-80 patients/day 4 ½ clinic days (9:00-5:00) Rotating between clinic and community building projects Common ailments: Musculoskeletal, GI issues (GERD), parasites, sore throats, respiratory, dehydration, hypertension, infections,
