Outstanding Egyptians! By Bethany law

Mummification When an Ancient Egyptian died they would do something called Mummifying them. To mummify someone and for I to dry it could take up to 100 days. If you want to know who to mummify then look at these steps. Step1: You need to wash the person that your mummifying thoughrouly. This is so that the body doesn't smell.Step2: Secondly ,you need to remove the organs starting with the brain. You need to put tweezers up there nose and take out the brain.Step3: Thirdly, you need to put the brain and organs into a jar. This jar is called a canopic jar.Step4: Next you need to stuff the body wit sawdust, spices and linen. This is so you can move the body around.Step5: After that you need to over it in a dry the body and cover it in a salt called natron.Step6: You now need to wrap the body in linen. Step7: Now you need to put amulets on top of the mummy and also scrolls. Step8: then you need to place the mummy into a coffin and then a funeral procession is held.

Ancient Egyptian familyMarriage in Ancient Egyptian times was very different nowadays. Peasant girls got married when they were about 12 years old. In most family's the mother took care of the children. Most boys went to school when they were just 7 years old.

GodsIn Ancient Egyptian times there were many gods. There are over 2000! These are some of the gods Amen, Anubis, Hours, Ra, Thoth, Osiris, Isis, Set, Sekhmet, Ptah, Hathor and Nephthys. The Ancient Egyptians worshiped many of these gods. If you were to count them you'd be there for about 2 years! (There's that many.)

Hieroglyphcs These Ancient Egyptians did not write like us and they didn’t use are alpebet. They used a type of writing called hieroglyphics. It is quite hard to see. If your name was in something called a cartouche then you were a very important person.
