Johnny Monsarrat Launches Boston's Largest Entrepreneur Calendar for Major Law Firm
(1888 PressRelease) Johnny Monsarrat and his Boston-based company, Hard Data Factory have been working on creating the world's largest arts calendar and just recently, he launched the first part of the project, the largest entrepreneur calendar in Boston for a major law firm.
Boston, MA-NH - Johnny Monsarrat once founded Turbine, which became the largest privately held videogames company in New England and was acquired for $160M by Warner Brothers. Now he his next company is building the world's largest arts calendar. Hard Data Factory is based in the Boston Globe headquarters, as a separate organization, using a technology based on two patents in data collection. The software searches public websites for calendars on museum, theatre websites, and festival websites, and the first part of his project has now launched: Foley Hoag's TEC Calendar.
Johnny Monsarrat says, "TEC Calendar is Boston's largest calendar of startup events by a factor of two. If you love to network in the entrepreneur community, this calendar is for you and we're pleased to launch it through Foley Hoag, our community's foremost law firm for startups." The calendar comes as a mobile app for the iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, and Android, and will soon be available in a website form as well. It covers networking events, business lectures, technology club meetings, and conferences within a 90-minute drive from Boston. The Boston Globe has also signed up to launch a version of the Boston calendar on The Hive, their startup community blog and news portal.
Johnny Monsarrat meanwhile has been active expanding the calendar to other cities, and it is now the world's largest entrepreneur calendar. He and the company are seeking sponsors in other major metros, firms that want to increase their visibility and tech savvy brand power in startup circles.
"There's no better way to get the attention of entrepreneurs," Monsarrat said, "than putting your brand in the center of the events they rely on for networking, education, and funding. We're reaching out to Austin, New York, DC, and twenty other metros for our next sponsorship and hope that entrepreneurs across the United States can benefit from our technology." Next up, Johnny Monsarrat hopes to launch an arts calendar based on this success by the end of 2013. He already runs Events INSIDER, the most popular events blog in New England that is not part of a newspaper.
About Johnny Monsarrat
Johnny Monsarrat lists more festivals, outdoor concerts, and off-beat events than anyone else in New England through Events INSIDER, and previously he set five world records through Soulburners, the community art project that brought an "advice column" to a traveling kiosk.
