Coordinate Plane
A plane in which a horizontal number line and a vertical number line intersect at the point where each line is zero.

X-Axis
X-Axis- the horizontal number line in a coordinate plane.

Y-Axis
 Y-Axis- the vertical number line in a coordinate plane.

Ordered Pair

Ordered Pair
A pair of numbers that gives the location of a point on a map or grid. X = 2, Y = 3

Coordinate
One of the numbers in an ordered pair.

Quadrant
One section of a coordinate graph formed by the intersection of the x-axis and the y-axis.


 

Origin
Origin- the point at which the two axes of a coordinate plane intersect. (0,0)
